Open One

I'm sharing this with some encouragement from friends. I hope you find it not, complicated, but helpful and maybe even encouraging.

There was a knock on my kitchen door which awoke me from a halfway nap, not sure what I heard, was I dreaming? Then it came again louder this time. I go to the door, and answer half thinking who is this? what could they want?  There stood my friend Rick he said, "come to Church with us tonight we are having a special service." I Said, what time, my only response, no other question, six he said. I got ready and left home not going to my Church but another church where I knew some people, just a few, my only thought was, I'm open Lord to what you have for me.

See I found myself in a place where I needed more, I needed to be ministered to, so hard for a pastor to find. The music was great, worshipful fresh new and lively. Then came the message all about expectations shared by a woman from Florida, it was refreshing I was being fed, a hunger was being filled. Then came the invitation, all during the service I was thinking I need to pray, I need more. But I'm not going without an invitation. The the pastor looks at me and says you weren't here this morning, God has great plans for your life, you just have to open up to Him, there was that word again "open." Come and I'll pray for you so i go to the front and before I know it I was on my knees praying, then others gathered around me, praying they weren't speaking English, but I knew what they were saying, then I lost it, and after a while I don't know how long, I was being helped to a seat. I was drained, and at the same time filled with a feeling of love I had only read about but now experienced. I knew I was different, this Methodist preacher had experienced being in the Spirit something I had read about, till then.

So how am I different? I have a spirit of expectation that wants more, as much Spirit time as my body can handle. So I went as the "Open One" and was filled.
